Idaho Homeowners Are Under Siege

Massive Increases in Property Taxes

North Idaho homeowners are suffering severe growing pains due to massive property tax increases. In addition to traffic congestion, higher infrastructure and service-related expenses that follow sudden growth, homeowners are also burdened with much higher property taxes to pay for new services and infrastructure they did not need before the huge influx of new residents.

Major Issues

Property Taxes

Homeowners are being crushed by the meteoric rise in property taxes in Idaho. Doug will work closely with his fellow legislators to craft and pass legislation that will better insulate homeowners from the painful side effects of rapid population growth.

No Criminal Re-Entry Center

Doug will continue to fight hard in order to keep a criminal re-entry center out of our community.

Push Pro-Life

Every avenue for protecting the unborn needs to be considered and supported. Doug will work hard to extend protections for life wherever possible, and work with others until the day abortion is abolished.

Education

Doug believes it is important for everyone to have the freedom to choose the best educational path for their families be it public schools, charter schools, STEM schools, private schools, or home schooling. Public school teachers and administrators should be freed from the bureaucratic burdens that accompany Common Core and instead be free to teach our children in the most efficient and meaningful ways possible without the infringement that has accompanied one-size-fits-all federal mandates.

Balance Constitutional Powers

It is extremely important to provide dedicated legal counsel for the Legislature in order to eliminate the current, built-in, constitutional conflicts of interest that exist between the Executive and Legislative branches of state government.
